General Director at Fiorentina Football Club, Alessandro Ferrari, has confirmed that Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey will be a Fiorentina players by the close of the transfer window.
According to Italian football expert Fabrizio Romano, Ferrari gave the assurance on acquiring Lamptey from English Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion while dismissing reports linking the club with signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Lamptey arrived in Italy this weekend and has completed his medical at the time of writing with an official announcement expected to be confirmed soon.
“There’s absolutely nothing into reports about Dani Ceballos. We sign Tariq Lamptey from Brighton and that’s it at this stage” Ferrari said.
Fiorentina have reportedly agreed a six million euros transfer fee with Brighton to acquire Lamptey whose five and a half year run with the Seagulls is set to end in the early hours of September 1.


24 year old Lamptey signed a one year contract extension with Brighton last season that was set to end on June 30, 2026. He has been named in the Black Stars squad for World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
