Daniel Levy has announced that he has resigned from his role as Chairman of English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs.

The news of Levy’s resignation broke on Thursday, September 4 during the international break; Levy’s resignation ends a 24 and a half year run as the shot caller at the London club.

Levy was appointed as the Chairman of Tottenham Hotspurs in March 2001 and steered the club into a consistent phase of sustainable financial operations that led to the club owning one of the best stadiums in the world.

In the statement, Levy stated how proud he was to build Tottenham into a “global heavyweight competing at the highest level”.

“I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community.”
