Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton has stated that recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered in Game 7 of last season’s NBA Finals has been tough. Haliburton has been ruled of the 2025-2026 season due to the injury.

With the finals series tied 3-3, Haliburton suffered an Achilles tear in the early minutes of Game 7 as the Pacers lost 91-103 to the Oklahoma City Thunder to miss out on winning the team’s first ever NBA title.

Addressing the press on the Indiana Pacers’ media day, Haliburton said the recovery process was monotonous and tough.

“Just taking it day-by day. It’s a monotonous thing of just feeling like you’re doing the same thing every time. It’s been tough, it’s been tough.”

“What we did was very special, and it’s something that I’ll cherish for a long time, but I don’t think that I’m prepared quite yet to go back and watch games because it has been hard for me.”

“I look forward to being able to digest the game without playing for a full year. That’s going to be different for me” Haliburton said.
