Almost a full month into the 2025-2026 NBA Regular Season, LeBron James made his debut after returning from injury.

The soon to be 40 year old had been dealing with sciatica and the ailment kept him out of action until he played 30 minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 140-126 win over the Utah Jazz.

In 30 minutes, LeBron registered 11 points, 12 assists and three rebounds in the win to mark a strong return to action on the court.

By making his debut, LeBron James made history as the first player in the NBA to play 23 consecutive seasons; the previous record was held by Vince Carter.

Speaking after the game, LeBron James sounded happy to be back on the court competing after dealing with the back injury.

“It was just fun to be out there with the guys, man. It’s been rough mentally for me — this is the first time I’ve started a basketball season and not played since I’ve started playing basketball, like 9 years old, I’ve never missed the beginning of a basketball season.”

“The pace tested me, but I was happy with the way I was able to go with the guys as the game went on, my wind got a lot better” LeBron James said according to ESPN.
