Arsenal star Eberechi Eze says his sensational hat-trick in the North London Derby was the direct result of prayer and belief, after guiding the Gunners to a commanding victory over Tottenham on Sunday.
Eze became the first player in 50 years to score a hat-trick in the fiercely contested derby, delivering a performance that instantly wrote his name into the fixture’s history.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the England international said the moment felt ordained.
That’s what I prayed for, I prayed for it today. I asked God for a hat-trick and He gave it to me, so I’m grateful. That’s faith.

The midfielder added that celebrating the achievement with his loved ones made the night even more unforgettable.
All my family’s here, man, so it makes it even more special to do it in front of them.
Eze’s explosive display continues to justify Arsenal’s heavy investment in him this summer, as the Gunners push on in their Premier League campaign with renewed confidence.
