The fallout from Manchester United Co-Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s controversial comments about immigrants in the United Kingdom continues with manager of England’s National Men’s Football Team, Thomas Tuchel, being the latest to chime in on the issue.
After stating in the infamous interview with Sky Sports that the UK was being “colonized by immigrants”, Jim Ratcliffe was heavily bashed with Manchester United issuing a statement that pointed out that the club was as an inclusive institution.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was among several high profile personalities to denounce the billionaire over his comments. Jim Ratcliffe has apologised for his choice of language. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
As a German working in England, Thomas Tuchel is an immigrant and responded to Jim Ratcliffe’s statement in an interview with British media TalkSport by stating,

“I just heard that he already regrets I think the choice of words which is fair enough. I’m very happy to have the chance to work in England. I feel very welcomed and I’m very proud to be the coach of England so this is my statement to that.”

England will play Ghana , Panama and Croatia in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June.
