Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot has delivered a brutal assessment of his team’s performance in the UEFA Champions League first leg quarterfinal clash against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG beat Liverpool 2-0 in France and Slot shared that his team was lucky to lose by that margin ahead of the second leg.
Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratshkelia scored for PSG to put the French in a strong position to qualify to the semifinals but the loss left Liverpool in a difficult position to do same leaving Slot reeling.
“If you reflect on the whole game I think we are lucky with only losing two nil. We tried many times to get them high, but they were able to play through us when we went man-to-man. I think that happened in the second half as well” Slot said according to TNT Sports.

Liverpool play Fulham in the English Premier League next on Saturday, April 11 before taking on PSG in the second leg on April 14.
