Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew says the team’s run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup is sure to be far from easy. (Scroll down to watch video)
Ayew made this comment in his speech at a send-off party for the Black Stars ahead of their move to Rhode Island where they will be based throughout their World Cup campaign.
Ghana is scheduled to play against Panama, England and Croatia on June 17, 23 and 27 respectively in its fifth World Cup appearance.
However, the Black Stars head to the tournament under massive pressure after failing to progress from the group stage in its past three World Cup appearances in a row but Ayew believes that can change this year.
“We have three massive games for us and we want to make you guys proud, we want to make Ghana proud.”

“Obviously, it’s not going to be easy but with your prayers and support, hopefully we will be successful. Keep on praying for us because we are here to make history” Ayew said.
