Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez has released a statement in the wake of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final reflecting on the fallout from the big game.
Fernandez’s Argentina lost 1-0 to Spain at the end of extra time to miss out on winning the World Cup for the second edition in a row.
The Chelsea midfielder featured in the game but was red carded in the 93rd minute after making a rash challenge that attracted a second yellow card.
The former Benfica player was part of the Argentine side that won the 2022 World Cup and thanked Argentine fans for their support by stating,
