Medeama have secured Ghana’s Champions of Champions trophy after recording a 2-0 win over FA Cup holders Nations FC at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday, August 30, 2026
The Ghana Premier League champions delivered a composed display to secure the trophy and gain an early confidence boost ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Medeama broke the deadlock in the 28th minute after Nations FC were penalised for a handball inside the box. Fatawu Sulemana stepped up and calmly converted the resulting penalty to give the home side the lead.
The Tarkwa-based side continued to control proceedings after the break and doubled their advantage through former Nations FC player Emmanuel Annor, who produced a well-taken finish to put Medeama firmly in control.
The victory gives Medeama an ideal start to the new season as they prepare for a demanding CAF Champions League campaign.
Medeama will host TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo on September 6 in the first leg of their preliminary-round tie, hoping to carry their domestic success into continental competition.
Nations FC, meanwhile, will also turn their attention to Africa. The FA Cup holders travel to Mali to face Diarra FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round tie on Saturday, September 5.
