Golden State Warriors centre Kristaps Porziņģis is expected to miss an indefinite period of the 2026-2027 NBA season due to an undisclosed health issue.
The Warriors confirmed the Latvian international’s absence in a statement on Wednesday, October 14, although the team has not disclosed further details about his condition or provided a timeline for his return.
Porziņģis joined Golden State on a two-year, $40 million deal this offseason, with the latest setback raising fresh concerns about his availability. He has endured several health-related absences during his NBA career, including spells with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his latest setback, Porziņģis struck an optimistic tone in a social media post, stating that
“I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health.”

“Honestly, I’m getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon.”

“It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can’t exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it.”
