In a significant move to uphold the integrity of Ghanaian football, Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has delivered a resounding promise that the forthcoming GFA elections will stand as a testament to transparency and fairness.

This assurance comes in the wake of the election committee’s announcement that the GFA Presidential race will feature a duel between the incumbent Kurt Okraku and the formidable contender, George Afriyie, a former Vice President of the association.

As per the Election roadmap, the vetting process will commence from Monday, August 21st to Friday, August 25th, leading up to the Elective Congress scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th.

Harrison Addo told Citi Sports:

“This roadmap that you see out there, FIFA is okay with it.”

He further added, “So, we are very compliant and will follow the timetable to ensure that everything is fair.

I don’t think anything will be done to hinder any of the processes.”

In this decisive moment for Ghanaian football, eleven football administrators, including Kingsley Osei Bonsu, Nana Sarfo Oduro, Frederick Acheampong, Dr. Tony Aubynn, Dr. Randy Abbey, Onyina Asenso, Edmund Ackah, Kwesi Appiah, Elloeny Amande, Raphael Gyambrah, and Alhaji Moro Akambi, are set to compete for five Executive Committee (Exco) positions within the Premier League clubs.

Within the Division One League Clubs Exco positions, a competitive race is observed as GFA Vice President Mark Addo, Samuel Anim Addo, Eugene Nii Amon, Gideon Fosu, and Alexander Ababio vie for the available three positions.

Meanwhile, Gifty Oware-Mensah, the Bankroller of Berry Ladies, stands unopposed for the Women’s Football Clubs Exco slot, underscoring her singular position within this category.

Additionally, the regional football association Chairmen positions will be contested by nineteen other administrators, signifying the breadth of engagement and dedication to shaping the future of Ghanaian football at the regional level.
