President of Botswana Basketball Association and FIBA Africa Board Member, Boineelo Hardy, is certain that the competition in the 13th African Games 3×3 Basketball event is one of the toughest she has witnessed.
She said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports following the conclusion of games on Day 2 of the competition that is taking place at the University of Ghana Basketball Court.
Ghana’s mixed bag of results dominated Day One of the competition but Day 2 belonged to Botswana after beating Zambia 21-20 and Kenya 13-10 in the Men’s Division.
Shock losses to top contenders like Egypt (lost 19-20 to Cote D’Ivoire) and Algeria (lost 16-17) to Kenya prompted the FIBA Africa Board Member to highlight the level of competition.
“I think the setup is amazing, it’s really good, it’s what we asked for three on three setups normally this is what we want. I think the teams came prepared. I think out of many tournaments that I have seen, this is one of the toughest.”

Day 3 is headlined by Ghana’s tough matches against Mali in the Men’s Division and Cote D’Ivoire in the Women’s Division.
