Botswana Basketball Association President, Boineelo Hardy, has expressed how proud she is of her team’s winning run in the 3×3 Basketball competition at the 13th African Games.
The multi-sport competition is taking place in Ghana for the first time and is set to conclude on March 23 on the back of the official opening ceremony that was held on March 8.
At the University of Ghana Basketball Court, Botstwana beat Zambia 21-20 and Kenya 13-10 on Day 2 of the 3×3 Basketball event to maintain its unbeaten run ahead of its final game at the pool stage against Algeria on Wednesday, March 20.
Acknowledging the high level of competition in the event, Botswana’s Basketball President who doubles as a FIBA Africa Board Member said, (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“Very tough games that we played today but I’m happy. Obviously, I’m certainly happy and excited, I’m really proud of the team putting in the work and winning both games. My hope and prayers for us to pull through to the finals.”
Algeria lost 16-17 surprisingly to Kenya in the final game on Day 2 of the competition.
