Chairman of a Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Culture and Tourism, Wisdom Kobena Woyome, has indicated that he wasn’t surprised the National Sports Authority (NSA) delivered jittery answers at the hearing over the dire situation of sports venues in Ghana.
Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency, Wisdom Woyome, made this known in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports after Day Two of the hearing.
Day One of the hearing had Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif appear before the committee and Honourable Woyome described the Minister’s stance as defensive. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
After NSA Board Chair Seth Panwum addressed several issues related to Ghana not having a CAF approved stadium to host international games, Honourable Woyome stated that,
“Of course, I expect them to always be a bit jittery with answers to some of the questions because when I wanted them to know that it appears they are overwhelmed, I mean they are overwhelmed with all the responsibilities that they need to manage all these facilities across the country and they are not able hence the situation we find the facilities in.”

Ghana is on the cards to play its “home” 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan in October outside Ghana due to the absence of a CAF approved stadium in the country.
The Board Chair of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Seth Panwum says the country’s stadia will be limited to hosting only sporting activities until pitch covers are procured. He adds that discussions have been held with the Finance Ministry on this.#CitiSports pic.twitter.com/B6x3QzQGMO
