Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team delivered a dominant performance in the second half of its 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan but failed to score in a goalless draw with Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Despite having 16 corners, registering seven shots on target and having 63% of ball possession, Ghana failed to score for the second time in three games in the qualifiers.

Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo were guilty of wasting big chances in the second half after Alexander Djiku’s struck the cross bar in the first half.

AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo weaved his way into the penalty box but his shot from an acute angle was saved by Mustafa Mohamed.

In the second half, Mohamed made a brilliant save on a follow up by Kudus who reacted fastest to a rebound of Ibrahim Sulemana’s shot.

Semenyo should have done better with a cross from the right side but his control let him down as it gave Mohamed enough time to pluck the ball from the air.

The biggest chance fell to Kudus whose tame tap in attempt was saved by Mohamed with Inaki Williams earlier failing to connect to a cross from Alidu Seidu late in the game.

Ghana takes on Sudan in the return leg on Monday, October 14 in Benghazi, Libya. Ghana still ranks third in Group F with two points while Sudan rank second with four points.
