The Black Stars continuous slide in the FIFA Men’s Rankings continues as Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team drops to 73rd in the latest release of the rankings.

In the August rankings, Ghana ranked 70th in the world and 14th in Africa but after losing 2-0 to Sudan and drawing goalless with Sudan in a 2025 AFCON double header, the Black Stars have dropped three places in the world rankings.

The above mentioned results have put Ghana in serious danger of failing to qualify to the 2025 AFCON; this would be Ghana’s first time missing the AFCON since 2004.

Angola have already secured their place in the 2025 AFCON in Group F that also has Ghana, Niger and Sudan and beating Niger twice has pushed Angola three spots up the standings.

Sudan moved 10 spots to rank 110th in the world rankings after impressing against Ghana; the James Kwasi Appiah led side is on the brink of making it to next year’s AFCON.

Another big gainer is Comoros after drawing 1-1 and beating Tunisia 1-0 in the AFCON qualifiers; Comoros moved up 10 spots to rank 108th in the world.
