Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Frederick Acheampong, has stated that the Ghana Police Service is working to apprehend more suspects connected to the violent clashes that took place at the Nsoatreman-Kumasi Asante Kotoko game.
The Week 19 Ghana Premier League clash at Nsoatre led to the death of popular Kotoko fan Pooley and Kotoko officials and GFA officials met with the Inspector General of Police, George Dampare in a behind closed doors meeting to discuss the issue and settle on solutions to fan violence at league venues.
While speaking with the media, Frederick Acheampong disclosed that the Police are working hard to arrest more suspects connected to the terrible events including a female.
“The IGP stated in the meeting that a female has been flagged as a suspect in this case and is on the run but the Police are looking for her.”

“The Police are looking for many more suspects so it means that the Police are working hard and have taken this matter very seriously” Acheampong said and added that the case is a criminal issue and “while the GFA handles the sporting aspect of this case, the Police will handle the criminal aspect.”
