The Member of Parliament for the Bodi Constituency, Sampson Ahi, has called for prayers including those from the minority side in Ghana’s Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic to be said for Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams to enable him steer the affairs of the sector.
He said this while addressing the floor of Ghana’s Parliament in the wake of the Black Stars’ fine performances in the latest 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team beat Chad 5-0 and followed it up with a 3-0 win over Madagascar to lead its qualification group.
Recognizing the role of the Sports Minister in the Black Stars win that halted a miserable run of six winless games that got Ghana to miss out on qualifying to the 2025 AFCON, Sampson Ahi said,
“In just two months, all that we need to do, including the minority, is to pray for him (Kofi Adams), pray for the Sports Minister so that God will grant him the enablement so that he can steer [the] affairs of sports activities in this country.”

Kofi Adams officially replaced Mustapha Ussif as Sports Minister in February, 2025. Scroll down to watch video.
