President of the Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation and Third Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ernest Danso, has been appointed as Chef de Mission for Team Ghana ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Danso’s appointment highlights his growing influence in Ghanaian sports leadership and builds on his successful stewardship of Team Ghana during the 2023 African Games.
Serving in the same role, he helped guide the nation to its best-ever performance at a major multi-sport event, thanks to effective planning, athlete support, and coordination.

He was elected GOC Third Vice President on April 26, 2025, during a significant Elective Congress at the Accra International Conference Centre; ushering in a new era under GOC President Richard Kofi Akpokavie, who succeeded Ben Nunoo Mensah.
As Chef de Mission for Glasgow 2026, Danso will be responsible for overseeing preparations, logistics, and team coordination as Ghana aims to build on recent progress and improve its medal tally at the Games.
The Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation celebrated the news with a post on social media: “We’re proud to see one of our own leading Team Ghana on the global stage.”
