Ghana defender Alexander Djiku is looking forward to complete the Black Stars’ qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup at home in front of Ghanaian fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars end its qualification campaign on Sunday, October 12 at 19:00 GMT against Comoros with its place at next year’s World Cup is all but secured.
Ghana leads Group I with 22 points and holds a whopping eight goal difference over closest challenger Madagascar who have 19 points meaning a draw on Sunday will be enough to send Ghana through.
Despite the huge odds favouring Ghana to qualify to compete in next year’s World Cup, Alexander Djiku is aiming to put an official stamp on Ghana’s qualification.
Djiku scored in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Central African Republic (C.A.R.) in the Black Stars’ penultimate qualification game. Djiku also scored in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Mali in the previous round.

“Solid performance today. Not done yet! We finish at home Sunday” he wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page after the emphatic win over C.A.R.

Djiku featured for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup and is in line to compete in the World Cup for the second time in his career.
