New Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa’s tenure has got off to a terrible start with Real suffering a big shocking loss amid coaching upheaval at the club.
After dismissing Xabi Alonso and replacing him with Arbeloa earlier this week, Real Madrid got bundled out of the Spanish Cup (Copa Del Rey) in very surprising fashion after losing 3-2 to lower league side Albacete.
In his debut game as Madrid head coach, Arbeloa rotated the squad significantly by dropping the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois and introducing academy products like David Jimenez.
Reacting to the big loss and elimination from the competition, Arbeloa accepted the blame and delivered a confident remark that he isn’t afraid to failure.
“If anyone is responsible and to blame for this outcome, it’s clearly me – the one who made the decisions regarding the line-up, how we wanted to play, the substitutions. I’m not afraid of failure.”

“I understand anyone who wants to describe this defeat as a failure. Failure is part of the road to success. It will make me better, and it will make us all better” he said according to the BBC.
