Despite playing in the Emirates FA Cup for AFC Bournemouth, Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo has been ruled as eligible to play for Manchester City in the same competition.
Semenyo featured as a substitute in Bournemouth’s 2-0 loss to Brentford in August 2025 before sealing a 64 million pound move to Manchester City this month.
Having competed in the tournament prior, Semenyo was questionable to play in Man City’s Carabao Cup semifinal game against Newcastle United on Tuesday, January 13.
However, the Ghana international has been cleared to play in the competition under EFL Rule 6.4 which was recently introduced.
This means that Semenyo is in line to play in his second game since joining Man City from Bournemouth; he scored and registered an assist on his Man City debut.

For his efforts in Man City’s 10-1 win over Exeter City in the FA Cup this past weekend, Semenyo won the Man of the Match Award. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
