Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says he expected his side to have tough challenges after delivering a blistering start winning four games in a row his appointment on an interim basis but was happy his team managed to pull through a tough outing against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Carrick shared those words after Man United beat Everton 1-0 thanks to a Benjamin Sesko goal in the 71st minute after coming on as a substitute.
Sesko stepped off the bench to give Man United a late equalizer in the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with West Ham in the previous round.
The win extended Man United’s unbeaten run under Carrick to six games including five wins and that form has moved Man United to fourth place and just three points behind third placed Aston Villa.

“We had the first four games, four wins in a row and some really good performances in there, so I expected a period where we’d have to find ourselves a little bit and find results.”

“It didn’t really come easy for us tonight. It was one of those nights for us. We had to dig deep and it was a bit of a struggle at times but sometimes they are the best ones to win” Carrick said after the win to Sky Sports.
