Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is upset his team hasn’t scored more goals from corner kicks despite the Gunners leading the category in the English Premier League.
At the time of writing, Arsenal have scored 16 goals from corner kicks in the 2025-2026 season; the Gunners have scored 22 goals in the EPL from set pieces including throw-ins and free kicks in total which represents 38% of their goals.
Their mark (16 goals from corners) has equaled the record set by West Bromwich Albion in the 2016-2017 season and Oldham in the 1992-1993 season.
Several pundits have criticized Arsenal’s style of winning games but in a presser ahead of the London side’s league game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday, March 4, Arteta says he wants more corner goals from his team.
“I am upset we haven’t scored more and that we have conceded [from set-pieces] as well. We want to be the best and most dominant team in every aspect of the game. That is the trajectory and the aim of this team. As a club we want to be the same, so we will try to do that” Arteta said.
