Tottenham Hotspur edged closer to the relegation zone after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Fulham FC at Craven Cottage ; their latest setback in a worrying run of form.
Fulham made a fast start and were rewarded inside seven minutes when Harry Wilson volleyed home from close range after Spurs failed to deal with a cross. A VAR check for a possible foul in the build-up did little to rescue the visitors as the goal stood.
Spurs struggled defensively throughout the first half and were punished again on 34 minutes. Alex Iwobi doubled Fulham’s advantage with a stunning strike from 25 yards, side-footing the ball brilliantly into the far corner to leave goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario rooted.

Despite enjoying spells of possession, Tottenham looked fragile at the back and short of ideas in attack. Managerial tweaks and a triple substitution after the break injected some urgency, and the visitors pulled one back in the 66th minute when Richarlison headed home from a well-delivered cross by Gray.

That goal briefly gave Spurs hope, but Fulham remained composed and managed the closing stages effectively. Bernd Leno produced key interventions, while the hosts stood firm to complete a league double over Tottenham for the first time in 22 years.

The defeat piles further pressure on Spurs, who continue to slide down the table and are now firmly looking over their shoulders in the relegation battle.
