Arne Slot is expected to remain head coach of Liverpool next season, with growing confidence inside the club that Champions League qualification will secure his position.

According to reports, doubts over the Dutchman’s future are fading quickly as Liverpool strengthen their grip on a top-five finish in the Premier League.

Liverpool currently sit fifth, holding a seven-point advantage over Chelsea  in sixth place, a gap that has proven decisive in recent weeks.

This season, finishing fifth is expected to be enough for Champions League qualification following Arsenal’s progression to the semi-finals of European competition, which has boosted England’s coefficient ranking.

While Liverpool’s form has improved at a crucial stage, Chelsea’s inconsistency has further strengthened the Reds’ position in the race.

Despite leading Liverpool to the league title last season, Slot has faced intense scrutiny during his second campaign.

Key challenges have included:

  • Falling behind title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal
  • A likely trophyless season
  • Mixed performances during a transitional period at Anfield

These factors have created division among supporters regarding his long-term future.

Behind the scenes, Liverpool are believed to view this campaign as part of a longer-term rebuild rather than a failure.

The club hierarchy appears willing to:

  • Maintain continuity under Slot
  • Back him in the transfer market
  • Build toward a stronger title challenge next season

Liverpool’s recent upturn in form has come at a critical stage, helping shift the narrative around Slot’s tenure.

With rivals dropping points and the Reds finding consistency, the focus has moved from uncertainty to stability.

What Next for Slot and Liverpool?

If Champions League qualification is secured, the Dutchman will likely:

  • Lead a summer rebuild
  • Address key squad gaps
  • Aim to close the gap on title contenders

For Arne Slot, the immediate task is clear ; finish the job this season and lay the foundation for the next.

What once looked like a season that could trigger major change is now shaping into one of consolidation.
