Nat’l Invitational Athletics Championship will build solid foundation for African Games- Bawa Fuseini

Ghana Athletics President, Bawa Fuseini, says the National Invitational Students Athletics Championship (NISAC) will build a strong foundation for the national team to compete at the 2023 African Games and beyond.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after leading a Ghana Athletics delegation to sign a Memorandum of Understanding agreement with CITI TV over the promotion and organization of the event. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The National Invitational Schools Athletics Championship (NISAC) is scheduled to be held in Accra in February next year just before the 2023 African Games takes place from March 8 to March 23.

Speaking exclusively to Citi Sports after signing the agreement with CITI TV management headed by CEO Samuel Attah-Mensah, Ghana Athletics President Bawa Fuseini talked about the importance of the competition.

“It is going to be the cornerstone for our foundation in building a formidable national team for the African Games and beyond. School sports is huge; we want to have a similar program to the one they have the one in Jamaica and the one in America.”

“We are going to invite the best schools in Ghana to converge in Accra for a four day athletic fiesta in Accra.”

Ghana Athletics is also partnering Ghana Education Service to organize the championship for 1400 athletes.
