Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has tagged Medeama Sporting Club as deserved winners of their tie against Legon Cities.

He said this in an interview after watching the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League Season Week 2 matchup at the Legon Stadium that had Medeama win 1-0.

Kamaradini Mamudu’s goal in the 28th minute proved to be the match winner in Legon Cities’ debut game at the Legon Stadium; Legon Cities have adopted the edifice as its home venue after bouncing around several league centres to play home games in previous seasons. “I think Medeama at the end deserved to win. They were stronger in defense, also in midfield, they had fast strikers, also the substitutions came in well, they had their chances so at the end, I think it was a deserved win.”

The win over Legon Cities mean Medeama have secured maximum points two games into the new season after beating Accra Lions 1-0 in the opening week.

The 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League champions take on league debutants Basake Holy Stars on Friday, September 27 next. Otto Addo is under pressure after Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola and drew 1-1 with Niger.
