Manchester United left full back Tyrell Malacia’s proposed loan move from the English Premier League club to Spanish league side Elche has collapsed.
The Red Devils were reportedly pushing for Malacia to join Elche initially on loan with an obligation for the Spanish club to buy the Dutch international at the end of the loan deal.
However, the deal at the time of writing, is off according to the Athletic as both parties couldn’t agree over the obligation to buy clause.
26 year old Malacia’s contract with Manchester United is due to end on June 30, 2026 with the option to extend the deal by an additional year.
Having featured only 47 times in all competitions since joining Man United from PSV Eindhoven in the 2022-2023 season due to a mix of inconsistent performances and injuries, it is very unlikely that Malacia sees out the final year of his deal at Old Trafford.

In a related development, Malacia’s teammate Jadon Sancho has agreed to join Aston Villa on loan.
