West Ham United captain James Ward-Prowse and manager, David Moyes, have acknowledged the quality behind Mohammed Kudus’ latest goal for The Hammers in a post game presser with the London club’s media channel.
Kudus scored a fine half volleyed shot in West Ham’s 2-3 loss to Brentford with the strike canceling Neal Maupay’s effort to tie the game.
Former Ajax Amsterdam star Kudus had the chance to score a second goal but his goal attempt struck the post but fell kindly to teammate Jarrod Bowen who swept the ball into the net to put West Ham up 2-1 at half time.
Brentford scored twice in the second half to get the win and Ward-Prowse expressed his disappointment with the loss but took time to talk about Kudus’ quality strike.
“At 2-1 up, it was a pivotal moment for us, and we should have seen the game out. Mo (Mohammed Kudus) and Jarrod (Bowen) are both showing their qualities. They scored two really-well taken goals, especially Mo’s, and they’ve got fantastic quality.”
“I’m pleased for them but I know I speak for them when I say they’d rather the three points. It’s something for us to work on and improve on.”
West Ham manager David Moyes said, “It was a great goal from Mohammed Kudus. We missed a couple of players with suspension today …but there were some good things.”
The goal is Kudus’s second in the league since joining West Ham this season.
