MTN FA Cup Committee Chairman, Wilson Arthur, is calling for more education for football fans as the country continues to battle hooliganism.
In recent weeks, a handful of violent clashes have taken place at various levels of Ghana football with the situation coming to a head when Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw “Pooley” Frimpong was stabbed to death in a Ghana Premier League game.
A series of stakeholder meetings have taken place since the tragic incident but Kotoko’s upcoming FA Cup round of 16 game against Sekondi XI Wise has been suspended as a result.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on ChannelOne TV’s Football Made in Ghana, Wilson Arthur stated that football fans need to be educated more as part of measures to halt violent acts at football games in Ghana.

“We need to educate our fans so we are doing that. If you lose, it is not the end of the world…we also need you the media to help in educating our fans” Wilson Arthur said.
He also stated that adequate security measures will be put in place to avoid any violent incidents in this weekend’s FA Cup games. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
