England forward Marcus Rashford has delivered a slew of stinging criticisms about his club Manchester United in an interview with former England players Micah Richards and Gary Lineker.
In the interview, Rashford, who is on a one year loan deal from Man United to FC Barcelona, branded the club as one that is in No Man’s Land.
The Man United Academy product had been with the Red Devils since making his debut under Louis Van Gaal and last played under Erik Ten Hag and Ruben Amorim prior to his temporal exit.
Citing the club’s inability to replace legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s system of replicating his playing style with the first team through the youth squads highlighted the team’s quick managerial changes over the years as a source of instability.
“When Ferguson was in charge, not only were there principles for the first team but they were for the whole academy so you could pick players from 15 years, a full generation, and they’d all understand the principles of playing the Manchester United way.”

“People say we’ve been in a transition for years. To be in a transition, you have to start the transition. So it’s like the actual transition’s not started yet. I feel like we’ve had that many different managers and different ideas and different strategies in order to win. You end up in the middle of…You end up in no man’s land.”

Rashford spent the second half of the 2024-2025 season on loan at Aston Villa and is looking to revive his career on loan at Barcelona.
