After tense contract negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys, Defensive End Micah Parsons has been traded to the Green Bay Packers in a shock move that ends his four year stay with the team that drafted him 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In the wake of the big trade, Parsons has since signed a very lucrative four year deal with Green Bay that is worth $188 million with $120 million in guaranteed money. He becomes the highest paid player in NFL history who doesn’t play the Quarterback position.
Parsons, who has recorded double digits sacks and made it to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons in the NFL, was sent to the Packers by the Cowboys in exchange for veteran three time Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Kenny Clark and first round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts.

In a statement released by Parsons, the 26 year old thanked Dallas Cowboys fans and wished his time with the time was longer.

“I never wanted this chapter to end , but not everything was in my control. My heart has always been here and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process” a section of the statement read.

Parsons fell out with Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones while negotiating for a new contract and didn’t play in any of the team’s preseason games. With the wildly talented Parsons on the roster, Green Bay Packers would be hoping to win its first Super Bowl since 2011.
