Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor from English Premier League side Manchester United.
The move will have the former Inter Milan and Ajax Amsterdam shot stopper play the 2025-2026 season in the Turkish Super League after spending two full seasons at Old Trafford.
Due to a hamstring injury, Onana missed significant portions of Man United’s preseason campaign and this played a role in Onana featuring once in the ongoing season which came in a penalty shootout loss to Grimsby Town.
Man United lost 12-11 to the League Two side after battling back to play a 2-2 draw with Onana at fault for the second goal United conceded. In his time at the Red Devils, Onana was heavily criticized for his gaffes that cost the club a ton of wins.
Onana recently competed for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers including a 1-0 loss to Cape Verde. Onana received heavy backlash for deciding to stay in goal rather than rush out to force a mistake in the lead up to the goal.

Onana’s move to Trabzonspor comes after Man United signed Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
