In the face of a loss to city rivals Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, Accra Great Olympics Board Member, Kudjoe Fianoo, believes that the Wonder Club put a very good display.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after Great Olympics lost 1-0 to Hearts of Oak in the 2025 Democracy Cup that was played out at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The event was headlined by the presence of President of Ghana, John Mahama, Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament Alban Bagbin and the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tsuru II.

Olympics are preparing to compete in the Access Bank Division One League 2025-2026 season and according to Kudjoe Fianoo, the team impressed in its first pre-season game against a team that had featured in the President’s Cup, Gbese Mantse Cup and GHALCA Top 4 prior.

“It was a good game for us, a good test for us. This is our first outing coming straight [out] from the offseason and playing this top notch game. I think that we’ve given a very good account of ourselves.”
