Dennis Schroder delivered another brilliant campaign for the German National Basketball Team to clinch its latest title in a golden period for the European nation.
After leading Germany to clinch the Basketball World Cup in 2023, Schroder led Germany to score an 88-83 win over Turkiye to win this year’s EuroBasket.
The veteran point guard who recently signed a three year, $45 million deal with the Sacramento Kings in the NBA, registered 16 points and 12 assists in 35 minutes in the final.
In nine games, Schroder averaged 20.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists en route to winning the Most Valuable Player Award of the tournament despite being racially attacked. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Adding the European title to the world title puts Schroder in rarefied company and the 32 year old talked about the team’s biggest strength.

“Unbelievable! The strech we had, 9-0. We also had that two years ago in the World Cup. To go 9-0 this summer and in this game. As the coach said, we never shy away from big moments.”

“Big-time plays by big-time characters. I am so proud of these guys because we stayed together as a team. It’s big time being World Cup Champions and Eurobasket winners” Schroder said according to Eurohoops.

Winning the 2025 Eurobasket is Germany’s first since their triumph in 1993.
