Wolverhampton Wanderers showed grit, organisation and renewed belief as they held Newcastle United to a hard-fought 0–0 draw at Molineux, a result that underlined their determination to fight for survival in the Premier League.
Despite Newcastle dominating possession for long spells, Wolves stood firm defensively and restricted Eddie Howe’s side to half-chances on a tense afternoon that never truly caught fire in front of goal.
The visitors had opportunities late on, with Bruno Guimarães twice getting sights of goal in stoppage time, but one effort was sliced wide while another penalty appeal was waved away by VAR after the midfielder went down in the box. That proved to be Newcastle’s final push as Wolves held out to earn a valuable point.

Wolves, still hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone, looked well-drilled and far more compact than earlier in the season. Yerson Mosquera was outstanding at the back, repeatedly cutting out danger, while goalkeeper José Sá was calm and assured whenever called upon.

In the first half, Wolves carried their own threat on the counter. Tolu Arokodare worked tirelessly up front, while Mateus Mané’s direct running lifted the home crowd. Hugo Bueno came closest before the break, cutting inside and firing narrowly wide after a lively spell of pressure.
Newcastle improved after the interval and introduced fresh legs, including Wissa and Anthony Gordon, but clear chances remained scarce. Sá produced his best moment in the 85th minute, pulling off a fine double save to deny Guimarães and Joelinton from close range.

As the clock ticked down, nerves crept in, tackles flew, and the game became scrappy. Wolves, however, refused to buckle, seeing out six minutes of added time to secure a result that felt almost like a victory.
For Wolves, the draw extends their unbeaten run and offers encouragement that their fight against relegation is far from over. Newcastle, meanwhile, will rue another frustrating afternoon where possession failed to translate into goals.
At full-time, the scoreboard read 0–0 — but for Wolves, this point could yet prove priceless in the battle to stay up.
