Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus says he maintains the same drive to be the best every time he steps on the football pitch regardless of location or competition.
He said this in a post game interview after aiding West Ham score a 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League on his return from the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.
Kudus got a penalty kick that James Ward-Prowse scored to tie the game in the 61st after Dominic Solanke had scored in the third minute to put Bournemouth up 1-0.
After missing four games due to his participation in the AFCON, Kudus influence grew as the game wore on and the 23 year old spoke on his determination to perform for The Hammers after the AFCON.
“I have the same motivation every time I step onto the pitch. No matter the location or the competition, I have the same focus to be better and better in every game.”
“Of course, I’m not happy to have been eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations, but that’s the reality and now I’m back with West Ham, and I’m focused on doing my best for this club.”
Despite scoring twice in two goals and winning two Man of the Match Awards, Kudus’ efforts weren’t enough to get the Black Stars past the first round of the 2023 AFCON.
