In a statement release, the GFA welcomed the call for transparency in budgets for national football teams stating that the “GFA has always provided the Ministry responsible for Sports with the first draft budget for the national teams.”

The GFA’s release also stated that, “everything to do with the budgeting and expenditure related to the Black Stars sits with the Ministry. For emphasis, payments made in relation to the Black Stars are exclusively handled by the Ministry.”

The Black Stars are scheduled to be in action on March 21 and March 24 in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
