Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim believes that his side would have lost to Nottingham Forest last season if the team had conceded twice in three minutes as it did in the league matchup played out on Saturday, November 1 at the City Ground.
Amorim said this after Man United’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham that had Amad Diallo’s 81st minute strike from the edge of the penalty box tie the contest.
Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona scored early in the second half to wipe out Casemiro’s goal in the 34th minute but Diallo’s strike got Man United the draw to extend the club’s unbeaten streak to four games.
However, Amorim believes had Man United conceded in such quick fashion last season, the team would have lost the game.
“We lost control of the game for five minutes and we paid a price. “

“In the past, if we had this kind of bad five minutes and we suffered two goals, we didn’t recover.”

“Today is a different feeling. You can sense that we could not win this game, but we are not going to lose. And that is a feeling that a big team sometimes has to have” Amorim said to ESPN.
