Chelsea Football Club head coach Enzo Maresca has called midfielder Moises Caicedo as one of the two best players in the defensive midfield position in the world.
He made this bold statement after Chelsea picked up a 1-0 win over London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs at the Tottenham Stadium with the Ecuadorian midfielder delivering a Man of the Match performance.
Speaking in a post-game presser, Maresca tabbed Caicedo and Manchester City midfielder Rodri as the best in the world at the defensive midfield position.
“For me, him and [Manchester City’s] Rodri, in this moment they are the two best defending midfielders in the world.”
“Moi, I think he’s showing how good he is. He’s top, I said many times, the best thing from Moi for sure, we judge him inside the pitch… he’s so good guy, he’s always there to help everyone” Maresca said according to ESPN.
Joao Pedro scored for the first time in 10 games to give Chelsea the win over Spurs ahead of a UEFA Champions League clash against Qarabag from Azerbaijan.
